This talented cover band, based in Westchester, boasts powerful female vocals from Miriam Risko and Melissa Miser and electrifying guitar solos from Mike Risko. With a solid rhythm section, featuring Dr. Larry Baskind on bass and Erik Perez on drums, they'll keep the energy up all night long.

The Mike Risko Band has the distinction of being a triumphant winner in the News 12 Westchester Sounds of the Season competition in 2022 and 2023. Mike Risko Band History

In the early 1990s, Mike Risko was touring with his original bands along the East Coast, while Miriam Baily was singing in bands and pursuing her musical theater dreams. Their paths crossed at a one-of-a-kind show at South Street Seaport on July 4th, where Miriam was given the performance opportunity of a lifetime, and she asked Mike to fill in for her guitar player. From there, Mike and Miriam performed hundreds of shows together as a full band and acoustic duo under different band names, such as Lucy's Frantic, before finally forming The Mike Risko Band in 2004. A few years later, close friend Melissa Miser joined the band as a singer after performing in numerous local bands and pursuing musical theater. Then came Dr. Larry Baskind, a bass player from well-known bands such as Doc Rock, who is also a local pediatrician. The came exceptional drummer and friend Erik Perez. These five now comprise the Mike Risko Band.

Mike Risko Band Gives Back

In addition to their regular concerts, the Mike Risko Band prioritize giving back to the communities that have supported them. They provide live music for various organizations that seek to raise funds, with a particular focus on supporting educational foundations, schools, sports groups, and PTAs, to benefit families.

In Addition to Making Music, the Risko's Produce Live Music Events

Mike and Miriam Risko are event producers and concert curators who have played a significant role in various music events. They established Make Music Day Ossining Briarcliff in 2015 and hold Make Make Music Day events twice a year on the winter and summer solstices, featuring more than 30 bands playing throughout Ossining and Briarcliff. Additionally, they curate the music for the Ossining Riverjam and collaborate with the Town of Ossining each summer to bring in 9 bands to perform at the Ossining Waterfront every Friday. They have also organized musical performances for the Briarcliff Poolside Concert and founded the first Briarcliff Summer Concert Series.
